🔺 Aerial Lift Devices

What we test:

  • Insulated boom (telescopic or articulated)
▪️ Electrical resistance testing of the insulated boom (when applicable)
▪️ Detection of cracks, contamination, or moisture that could compromise insulation

  • Insulated platform or bucket
▪️ Dielectric resistance test between the platform and the metal structure
▪️ Measurement of leakage current under controlled voltage

📌 These tests are essential to ensure that the insulating barrier properly protects the worker from electric shock, especially when working near live power lines.

🛠️ Recommended frequency:
▪️ Annual dielectric test

Inspection of Temporary Grounding Devices

Applicable Standards:

  • ASTM F855
Standard for cables, clamps, conductors, and connectors used for temporary grounding of energized distribution and transmission lines.

  • CSA Z462
Canadian standard requiring the use of compliant grounding devices when working in electrically hazardous environments.

✅ Inspection performed:

  • Thorough visual inspection before each use (checking for corrosion, mechanical damage, or wear)

  • Annual formal testing of electrical continuity and conductor integrity

  • Verification of clamps and connections to ensure effective and safe grounding

📌 Recommended frequency:
▪️ Visual inspection before every use
▪️ Complete inspection annually

🟢 Insulating Mats and Blankets – Standard CSA C22.2 No. 198.1

  • Visual inspection: cuts, cracks, holes, or signs of contamination

  • Dielectric test under voltage to validate the integrity of the rubber insulation

  • Cleaning and labeling with the test date

📌 Recommended frequency: At least once per year

🟡 Insulating Sticks

                                                 Standard: ASTM F711

  • Dielectric strength testing

  • Visual inspection for wear, cracks, dirt, or moisture

  • Cleaning and inspection of tips, handles, and connectors

  • Identification and traceability of each stick

📌 Recommended frequency: Every 12 months or after heavy use or any doubt about the equipment’s condition

OUR INSPECTION SERVICES ACCORDING TO ASTM AND CSA STANDARDS

  • Visual inspection and dielectric testing of insulating gloves
    (ASTM D120, CSA C22.2 No. 23)
